SUMMARY:12th International Symposium ''Polyimides & High Performance Materials''
DESCRIPTION:This symposium to be held in Montpellier from 6th to 9th June 2022\, is the twelveth in a series the first of which of which was held in Montpellier-Le Corum in May 1989. As with its predecessors\, the symposium is organized to bring together scientists\, technologists and engineers interested in all aspects of high temperature polymers and more generally in organic & inorganic high performance materials. \nThe feature of polyimides and other heterocyclic polymers are now well recognized and used for long term temperature durability in the range of 250 – 350°C.\nNew structures coming from the chemical modifications of the heterocyclic backbones or from the creation of new architectures are under development for advanced technologies for the future.\nThe symposium will review synthesis\, mechanisms\, ultimate properties\, physico-chemical properties\, processing and applications of such high performance materials needed in advanced technologies. \nSee our website : https://stepi.umontpellier.fr  for Information\, Programme & Registration

SUMMARY:Formation CNRS : La photopolymérisation : état de l’art et utilisations avancées
DESCRIPTION:Les procédés de photopolymérisation connaissent un développement important avec des applications considérables dans le milieu industriel (la croissance est de l’ordre de 10 % par an). Comparé aux procédés thermiques traditionnels\, un amorçage photochimique permet de réaliser une réaction de polymérisation extrêmement rapide avec\, de plus\, la possibilité de polymériser dans des régions spatialement contrôlées (3D). Ces méthodes sont ainsi moins coûteuses en énergie que leurs équivalents thermiques. De plus\, cette technologie est écologique car n’employant pas de solvant\, elle limite fortement les émissions de COV. C’est précisément dans ce cadre que s’inscrit la présente formation avec une initiation et/ou un perfectionnement aux techniques de photopolymérisation. Les bases de photochimie nécessaires seront présentées avec un état de l’art de la technique (principalement UV-curing). Dans une seconde partie\, les défis\, enjeux scientifiques et industriels seront discutés.
