SUMMARY:Mech’cheM 2025 : new forces in Mechanochemistry
DESCRIPTION:Mechanochemistry has regained a lot of attention in the last years as it is a powerful tool to develop more sustainable chemical processes. In 2019\, the IUPAC named “mechanochemistry and reactive extrusion” as one of the ten innovations that will change the world. Defined as the science of inducing reactions through mechanical forces\, mechanochemistry has exploded as a field\, through its use in organic\, inorganic\, and organometallic chemistry\, materials science and engineering\, catalysis\, and enzymology\, with applications in the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients\, of new electrode or electrolyte materials for batteries\, biomass conversion\, or plastics degradation. Importantly\, the use of mechanochemistry often comes with additional benefits\, such as recycling of critical metals (i.e. the batteries or catalysis fields)\, and the significant reduction of solvent and reagent use. \n The International Symposium on Mechanochemistry (Mech’cheM 2015) held in Montpellier in 2015 gathered prominent speakers and participants from all areas of chemistry\, demonstrating the infinite applications of mechanochemistry. Where are we now\, ten years later? Mech’cheM 2025: New forces in Mechanochemistry will be the occasion to provide an update on the newest developments\, from technological advances (reactive extrusion\, reactive acoustic mixing\, ball-milling…) to a broad width of applications.

DESCRIPTION:Le PEPR Recyclage organisera sa journée annuelle le 12 juin 2025\, au Double-Mixte sur le campus de la Doua à Lyon.\nLe PEPR Recyclage\, Recyclabilité et Ré-utilisation des matières (Programmes et Equipements Prioritaires de Recherche)\, piloté par le CNRS\, s’intègre dans la Stratégie d’Accélération France 2030. Son objectif est l’émergence d’un modèle français dans le domaine des matières premières de recyclage (MPR) et leur réincorporation dans de nouveaux produits. Il vise à relever les défis écologiques\, économiques et technologiques nécessaires à la transition vers une économie circulaire\, compétitive et respectueuse de l’environnement. \nLe programme regroupe plus de 50 équipes sur l’ensemble du territoire français et se divise en 11 axes de recherche : \n\n5 axes « matériau » (plastiques\, métaux stratégiques\, matériaux composites\, papier-cartons et textiles)\,\n4 axes « filière » (batteries\, nouvelles technologies de l’énergie\, déchets d’équipements électriques et électroniques\, déchets ménagers)\,\n2 axes transverses (sciences humaines et sociales et numérique).

SUMMARY:Formation - La photopolymérisation : état de l’art et utilisations avancées
DESCRIPTION:Les procédés de photopolymérisation connaissent un développement important avec des applications considérables dans le milieu industriel (la croissance est de l’ordre de 10 % par an). Comparé aux procédés thermiques traditionnels\, un amorçage photochimique permet de réaliser une réaction de polymérisation extrêmement rapide avec\, de plus\, la possibilité de polymériser dans des régions spatialement contrôlées (3D). Ces méthodes sont ainsi moins coûteuses en énergie que leurs équivalents thermiques. De plus\, cette technologie est aussi écologique car en n’employant pas de solvant elle limite fortement les émissions de COV. C’est précisément dans ce cadre que s’inscrit la présente formation avec une initiation et/ou un perfectionnement aux techniques de photopolymérisation.\nLes bases de photochimie nécessaires seront présentées avec un état de l’art de la technique (principalement UV-Curing). Dans une seconde partie\, les défis\, enjeux scientifiques et industriels seront discutés.

DESCRIPTION:The sustainable management of plastics is a critical issue for agri-food systems\, where their use is rapidly expanding. Ahead of the second part of the fifth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee to develop an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution\, including in the marine environment\, the FAO Liaison Office in Geneva in collaboration with FAO`s Office of Climate Change and Biodiversity is organizing a briefing on agri-plastics management. The briefing will aim to: \n\nPresent the Voluntary Code of Conduct on the Sustainable Use and Management of Plastics in Agriculture and FAO’s work on agri-plastic management.\nDiscuss the relevance of the agricultural sector within the new legally binding instrument and in the context of trade policy.\nFacilitate dialogue between government representatives and international organizations.\nExplore opportunities for collaboration and implementation of sustainable practices.

SUMMARY:EUCHIS Multidisciplinary Masterclass 2025
DESCRIPTION:A precise and comprehensive macromolecular characterization of chitosans is of importance in chitosan science\, as the properties of these polymers heavily depend on the degree of acetylation\, the distribution of molar masses\, and ultimately\, the deacetylation sequence (deacetylation pattern). Any scientific work presented without the structural characterization of chitosan cannot be considered reproducible and should not be accepted for publication. \nIn the summer school this year 2025\, we will present state-of-the-art methods for macromolecular characterization of chitosans\, as well as their impact on the physicochemical\, rheological\, mechanical\, physical\, and biological behaviors of various materials based on chitosan.
