Une nouvelle zéolithe ouvre la voie vers des plastiques biodégradables plus durables
Des chercheurs de l’Académie chinoise des sciences ont développé un catalyseur zéolithique innovant (ZEO-1) pour la carbonylation du diméthoxyméthane (DMM), permettant ainsi une production efficace et écologique de monomères essentiels comme l’acide glycolique et le méthoxyacétate de méthyle. Grâce à sa structure poreuse unique, cette zéolithe catalyse simultanément la carbonylation et la dismutation du DMM avec une sélectivité proche de 100 %. Les monomères obtenus ouvrent des perspectives prometteuses pour produire à grande échelle des polymères biodégradables à hautes performances, tels que l’acide polyglycolique, répondant aux exigences croissantes de durabilité environnementale.

MIT : Une production massive de nanoparticules polymères pour cibler les tumeurs cancéreuses
Des ingénieurs du MIT ont mis au point une méthode rapide et évolutive de fabrication de nanoparticules polymères capables d’administrer directement des médicaments anticancéreux dans les tumeurs. Grâce à une approche microfluidique de dépôt de couches polymères chargées en principes actifs, ces nanoparticules atteignent précisément les cellules cancéreuses, réduisant considérablement les effets secondaires liés aux chimiothérapies conventionnelles. Ce procédé, conforme aux normes GMP, ouvre la voie à une production industrielle facilitée et accélère la transition vers des essais cliniques, notamment pour le cancer de l’ovaire.
