Guilhem Baeza est un scientifique spécialisé dans les matériaux polymères. Il a obtenu son doctorat à l’Université de Montpellier en 2013, sous la direction de Julian Oberdisse, au sein de l’équipe Matière Molle du Laboratoire Charles Coulomb, en partenariat avec Michelin. Après un diplôme d’ingénieur à l’ENSCBP à Bordeaux, Audrey Llevot a obtenu son doctorat à l’Université de Bordeaux en 2014 en travaillant sur la synthèse de nouveaux polymères biosourcés au Laboratoire de Chimie des Polymères Organiques (LCPO), sous la codirection des professeurs Stéphane Carlotti, Stéphane Grelier et Henri Cramail. Prix Jeune Chercheur 2025 : Camille Bakkali-Hassani e
Camille Bakkali-Hassani est chargé de recherche au CNRS de l’institut Charles Gerhardt de Montpellier (ICGM, UMR 5253) dans l’équipe Chimie MacroMoléculaire et Matériaux. Après avoir obtenu un Master à l’Université de Bordeaux, il y réalise un doctorat sous la direction des professeurs Stéphane Carlotti et Daniel Taton (2018). Ses travaux de thèse portaient sur la polymérisation par ouverture de cycle via une stratégie d’activation du monomère pour la synthèse contrôlée de polyaziridines et de polyamides. Il effectue ensuite un premier stage postdoctoral à l’Université de Monash (Melbourne, Australie) sur l’ouverture de cycle en flux continu et par organocatalyse d’esters cycliques pour des applications en bio-ingénierie. lire plus…

Valorisation sélective du polyéthylène par découplage-recouplage cinétique
Une équipe de recherche a élaboré une stratégie catalytique en tandem baptisée « découplage-recouplage cinétique » visant à transformer sélectivement les déchets de polyéthylène en monomères légers. Ce procédé novateur surmonte l’inertie chimique des liaisons carbone-carbone saturées en orchestrant deux cycles réactionnels distincts : une déshydrogénation initiale sur zéolithe générant des sites insaturés réactifs, suivie d’une scission contrôlée de la chaîne polymère par dimérisation et rupture bêta. L’ingéniosité du système réside dans la modulation précise des vitesses réactionnelles, permettant d’éviter l’accumulation d’intermédiaires stables qui entravent habituellement l’efficacité globale ou empoisonnent les catalyseurs. En favorisant la production exclusive de propylène et d’éthylène de haute pureté directement utilisables pour la repolymérisation, cette approche offre une voie thermochimique viable pour boucler le cycle de vie des plastiques polyoléfiniques, résolvant ainsi les défis de sélectivité inhérents aux méthodes de pyrolyse conventionnelles.

Initiation photothermique de la polymérisation frontale pour l’impression 3D de composites
Des chercheurs ont développé une stratégie d’initiation photothermique sans contact permettant de piloter la polymérisation frontale au cours de l’impression 3D de composites polymères. Ce procédé exploite la capacité des renforts en fibres de carbone à absorber l’énergie d’un faisceau laser pour générer localement la chaleur nécessaire au démarrage d’une réaction de durcissement auto-entretenue. En s’affranchissant des sources de chaleur externes globales ou des contacts physiques limitants, cette méthode assure une solidification quasi instantanée de la résine thermodurcissable dès sa dépose, facilitant la fabrication de formes libres sans outillage complexe. Cette innovation améliore considérablement l’efficacité énergétique et la vitesse de production par rapport aux cycles de cuisson conventionnels, tout en préservant l’intégrité structurelle des pièces. Elle présente un potentiel industriel majeur pour l’élaboration automatisée et continue de matériaux composites à haute performance, notamment pour des applications nécessitant une grande liberté de conception ou des interventions de réparation rapide.
