Des triblocs polyesters biosourcés sont dépolymérisés en monomères puis repolymérisés
Kai Ma, Tie-Qi Xu et leurs coauteurs utilisent plusieurs δ-valérolactones biosourcées pour construire par polymérisation par ouverture de cycle des polyesters triblocs constitués de segments présentant des comportements thermomécaniques différents.
La polymérisation permet de contrôler l’enchaînement des blocs et de faire varier la composition afin d’obtenir, selon les formulations, des comportements allant de l’élastomère au thermoplastique.
Après usage, les polyesters étudiés peuvent être convertis en leurs monomères cycliques de départ, y compris à partir de mélanges de polymères, puis ces monomères sont réutilisés pour une nouvelle polymérisation.
Syensqo ajoute une ligne de compounding pour PPS, PEEK, PPA et PARA en Inde
Syensqo prévoit l’installation d’une nouvelle ligne de compounding sur son site de Panoli, en Inde, pour transformer localement plusieurs familles de polymères aromatiques : PPS, PEEK, PPA et PARA.
L’équipement doit doubler la capacité actuelle de compounding du site et constitue le premier élément d’un ensemble modulaire prévu pour permettre des extensions ultérieures.

Kirin et Japan Steel Works démontrent la dépolymérisation alcaline du PET sur extrudeuse bivis
Kirin Holdings, par l’intermédiaire de son Packaging Innovation Institute, et The Japan Steel Works ont testé une technologie de dépolymérisation alcaline du poly(éthylène téréphtalate) sur une extrudeuse bivis TEX αIII de dimension industrielle.
Lors de l’essai communiqué par les partenaires, plus de 95 % du PET est dépolymérisé avec un fonctionnement maintenu à un débit d’au moins 250 kg/h.
Les travaux portent sur le passage d’expériences antérieures à une configuration de production continue et sur l’utilisation d’un équipement d’extrusion industriel pour réaliser l’étape de dépolymérisation du PET.

Paris-Saclay et l’IMP Lyon révèlent l’organisation confinée de films minces de poly(liquides ioniques)
Des chercheurs du Laboratoire Léon Brillouin CEA-CNRS, du Laboratoire de Physique des Solides de l’Université Paris-Saclay, de l’Ingénierie des Matériaux Polymères à Lyon et du synchrotron SOLEIL analysent la structuration de films ultraminces de poly(liquides ioniques) à base de poly(1-vinyl-3-alkylimidazolium).
La réflectivité des rayons X et la diffraction en incidence rasante montrent que le confinement modifie l’organisation des chaînes et favorise une structuration lamellaire accompagnée d’une orientation préférentielle des groupes imidazolium. L’épaisseur du film intervient directement sur les distances caractéristiques de cette organisation.
Ces résultats sont particulièrement intéressants pour les électrolytes polymères, les revêtements ioniques et les dispositifs dans lesquels la mobilité des ions et le transport de charge dépendent fortement des interfaces et du confinement nanométrique.
