The Interdisciplinary Thematic Institut Hierarchical and Functional Materials for health, environment and energy, ITI HiFunMat, gathers a Master-Doctorate training program (Graduate School) and a cluster of excellence dedicated to the development of advanced materials (https://hifunmat.unistra.fr/).
The Graduate School offers to Master students, interested in health and sustainable development, high-level supplementary training in materials science across physics, chemistry and engineering. The aim is to train the next generation of scientists to meet the high demand from academia and industry for highly talented scientists with a strong background in materials science to advance the development of the next generation of materials. The ITI HiFunMat Graduate School is based on 3 Master programs (Material science, Chemistry and Physics) and includes 3 Faculties (UFR de physique et ingénierie de l’Université de Strasbourg, UFR de Chimie de l’Université de Strasbourg, la Faculté de Sciences et Technologie de l’Université de Haute Alsace) and 2 Engineering Schools (ECMP and ENSCMu).
Participation in the Graduate School is in parallel to a master program and will result in a diploma supplement. The diploma supplement includes 18 additional ECTS (~100h) and includes scientific courses, lectures and seminars, practical laboratory experiences and a summer school. All courses are taught in English. Students will have the opportunity to design their curriculum and gain a wealth of experience in a variety of technical and cross-cutting skills on which to build their future careers. Contact with industry will be fostered through various activities and, in the end, students will have a strong network in academia and industry.
To support our students, they will receive a scholarship of 600 euros per month.
We are pleased to announce that the application period for non-European students has started (24 January to 18 March). Applications for European and French students open at the end of March. Classes will start in September 2022.
There are 10 scholarships available at the M1 level (first year) and 13 at the M2.
To apply students must first register to an associated Master program and then submit to ITI HiFunMat via the online application form (https://hifunmat.unistra.fr/graduate-school/apply/msc-students).
