Glycolyse du PET par liquides ioniques et retour au polyester par polycondensation
Les chercheurs comparent des liquides ioniques comme catalyseurs homogènes de la glycolyse de bouteilles en PET postconsommation dans l’éthylène glycol. L’identité du couple cation–anion modifie fortement la conversion et la récupération du bis(hydroxyéthyl)téréphtalate, la disparition du déchet ne garantissant pas à elle seule l’isolement du monomère. Le produit purifié est ensuite repolymérisé par polycondensation à l’état fondu ; les analyses spectroscopiques et thermiques confirment la reformation du polyester et montrent l’influence de son histoire thermique.
Une oxydation catalytique améliore l’adhésion du polyéthylène en préservant ses propriétés à cœur
Le manuscrit accepté mis en ligne dans Nature décrit une fonctionnalisation du polyéthylène solide à l’interface avec un milieu liquide, réalisée en présence d’un catalyseur au fer. La conversion sélective de groupes méthylène en fonctions cétone améliore l’adhésion aux surfaces polaires, tout en préservant les propriétés évaluées dans le volume du matériau, notamment la température de fusion et la résistance en traction. Les fonctions introduites peuvent être modifiées à nouveau pour renforcer l’adhésion, et leur effet persiste davantage que celui de traitements de surface moins sélectifs.
BASF India et ses partenaires inaugurent une installation de recyclage mécanique des polyuréthanes
BASF India, Green Worms et l’Indian Polyurethane Association annoncent l’inauguration, à Manjeri dans le Keralam, d’une installation consacrée aux déchets de polyuréthane issus de la fabrication de chaussures. Le dispositif associe collecte, tri et recyclage mécanique, avec une valorisation annoncée en produits tels que des tapis de sol destinés à des écoles. Le communiqué ne précise ni les conditions de remise en forme ni le bilan d’exploitation de l’installation.

Des anthocyanes consolident les interfaces entre collagène et mycélium
Les travaux associent collagène, mycélium de Ganoderma lucidum et anthocyanes végétales dans des films composites dont les interfaces sont réorganisées par des interactions non covalentes. Les simulations moléculaires, les analyses spectroscopiques et la modélisation mécanique relient ces contacts locaux à la consolidation des parois poreuses, à une organisation lamellaire plus cohérente et à un meilleur transfert des contraintes. Les films combinent résistance mécanique, propriétés barrières, protection contre l’ultraviolet et fonctions antioxydantes ou antibactériennes, avec une indication de fraîcheur sensible au pH.
France — Le Laboratoire de réactivité de surface contribue à l’étude de photoinitiateurs diazirines
Une collaboration internationale associant le Laboratoire de réactivité de surface de Sorbonne Université, à Paris, démontre que des diazirines aromatiques peuvent amorcer la polymérisation radicalaire de monomères acrylates sous irradiation. L’ajustement des substituants permet une activation dans l’ultraviolet ou le visible, avec une compatibilité de formulation en milieux aqueux et organiques. Les essais sur kératinocytes montrent, pour les composés et conditions étudiés, une cytotoxicité moindre que celle de photoinitiateurs de comparaison ; le mécanisme précis d’amorçage reste à confirmer.

Avec la série « Visage du GFP », le Groupe Français des Polymères (GFP) donne la parole aux femmes
et aux hommes de sa communauté, pour découvrir leurs activités et les liens qui les unissent aux sciences des polymères.
Ce nouveau portrait est consacré à Margarita Dorato, qui travaille chez Michelin sur les matériaux renouvelables et recyclés.
Invitée à intervenir lors du colloque national du GFP en novembre 2025, elle a accepté de partager sa vision à l’occasion d’une vidéo-interview.
Elle y évoque la place des polymères dans les pneumatiques et les défis associés à l’utilisation de ressources renouvelables et de matières recyclées. Elle souligne l’importance de préserver les performances des produits tout en intégrant les enjeux de recyclage et de recyclabilité.
Margarita Dorato revient également sur ses liens avec le GFP et sur le rôle des échanges entre recherche académique et industrie.
Ces rencontres contribuent à construire les collaborations nécessaires pour faire avancer les matériaux et les procédés de demain.
Un témoignage sur l’avenir des polymères dans les pneumatiques et sur la force d’une communauté qui relie connaissances scientifiques et enjeux industriels.
