The European Polymer Federation (EPF) in collaboration with Italian Association of Macromolecular Science and Technology (AIM) is honored and pleased to announce the organization of the European EPF School 2027 on “Recycling and Recyclability of Polymers” to be held in Bertinoro (Italy), May 9-14, 2027.
EPF School will offer a platform to review and discuss the main challenges facing this important research field, bringing together worldwide scientists, engineers, and students working on every aspect of recycling and recyclability, i.e. circularity of polymers for contributing to Circular Economy.
The conference will be based on plenary lectures, oral communications, and poster presentations. Major addressed topics will be the following:
- Recycling of polymer materials
– Different routes for recycling thermoplastic and thermoset plastics (mechanical, chemical, enzymatic), i.e. chemisty, analytics, processing, etc issues
-
- Sorting plastics
- Re-use of plastics: pollutant presence/depollution (NIAS)
- Design of recyclabke(circular) plastics
- LCA applied to design recycling value chains and to select recycling routes
- Regulations applied to plastics recycling
- Economy of recycling – Value chains – Linear vs. circular vs. functionality economies
- Societal issues related to recycling and circularity of polymer materials
