English version
The Institut Charles Sadron in Strasbourg offers a Master 2 internship on the synthesis of self-immolative polymers for biomedical drug-delivery applications. These polymers undergo domino-like fragmentation in response to a stimulus, a property that could enable spatially and temporally controlled drug release on demand.
The project will establish conditions for polymer preparation and functionalization with a triggering group, then assess degradation in aqueous solution with and without the stimulus. The work may then address formulation of the polymer and drug into nanoparticles and investigate drug-release kinetics.
The internship is intended for a motivated Master 2 student with a background in molecular chemistry. Training in polymer chemistry would be appreciated but is not required, together with a strong interest in an interdisciplinary project at the interface of synthesis and physical chemistry. Applications should include a CV, reference email addresses and a cover letter, sent to Delphine Chan-Seng at delphine.chan-seng@ics-cnrs.unistra.fr.
