Des copolymères amphiphiles à séquence alternée pilotent les interactions aux interfaces biologiques
Une étude dans le Journal of the American Chemical Society montre que la séquence des unités le long d’un copolymère amphiphile peut devenir un paramètre direct de contrôle des interactions interfaciales. Les auteurs ont développé une stratégie de monomère volumineux transformable permettant une copolymérisation alternée de systèmes méthacrylamide–acrylate. Une modification post-polymérisation conduit à des copolymères cationiques dans lesquels unités hydrophobes et chargées sont distribuées de manière régulière le long de la chaîne.
La comparaison avec des analogues de même composition mais à séquence gradient ou aléatoire montre que l’architecture alternée modifie la conformation des chaînes, leur hydratation et leurs interactions avec les membranes riches en lipopolysaccharides. Dans les conditions de l’étude, cette organisation est associée à une perméabilisation accrue de la membrane externe, une hémolyse réduite et une meilleure potentialisation antibiotique.
Les simulations de dynamique moléculaire complètent les mesures expérimentales en montrant que la séquence alternée favorise une adsorption plus favorable et une exposition plus régulière des groupes cationiques vers les motifs anioniques de la membrane.

L’apprentissage automatique guide la conception de membranes PBI à acide phosphonique
Chengkai Hong, Chunyang Yu et Yongfeng Zhou associent un modèle de diffusion génératif, une forêt aléatoire pour le criblage et des simulations de dynamique moléculaire afin d’étudier des membranes échangeuses de protons à base de polybenzimidazole et d’acide phosphonique. Leur méthode génère des candidats et repère des motifs structuraux associés à la conductivité protonique. Les simulations relient le transport des protons à la réorganisation des réseaux de liaisons hydrogène et aux interactions entre groupes phosphate, segments de membrane et protons. L’étude présente une stratégie de conception et de validation par simulation.
La France structure le marché des plastiques recyclés
La Direction générale des entreprises, le Comité stratégique de filière Transformation et valorisation des déchets, FEDERREC et TEAM2 ont réuni à Bercy des recycleurs, des transformateurs, des chercheurs et des financeurs autour de l’incorporation de matières plastiques recyclées. Le programme a porté sur la régularité des lots, la documentation des matières, la volatilité des prix, les débouchés, l’écoconception et la traçabilité, avec la présentation d’une cartographie nationale de la filière. Le recyclage enzymatique du PET gagne en précision
Une équipe de l’Australian National University a introduit des azatryptophanes dans des PETases déjà optimisées, remplaçant localement un groupe carbone-hydrogène par un atome d’azote. Dans les essais rapportés, les enzymes modifiées dégradent le PET presque deux fois plus efficacement sans diminution mesurée de leur stabilité thermique. L’équipe présente également PETra, un test fluorescent utilisant un substrat soluble et mesurant l’activité en quelques minutes ; la publication ne fournit pas de données de procédé pilote, de coût ni de bilan énergétique sur des déchets post-consommation. Des bactéries produisent des adhésifs PHA
Des chercheurs du KAIST ont modifié le métabolisme d’Escherichia coli pour produire à partir de glucose des PHA contenant du 4-hydroxybutyrate et du phényllactate. La fermentation atteint 10,2 g/L pour le copolymère et 52,8 g/L pour le terpolymère contenant également du 3-hydroxybutyrate. Sur acier, un copolymère présente une résistance au cisaillement de 4,58 MPa, contre 4,20 MPa pour l’adhésif EVA commercial utilisé comme référence ; les auteurs rapportent aussi des essais sur bois, des cycles de refusion-recollage et une dégradation en présence de lipase. Le tri multi-capteurs affine la séparation des plastiques
Sort4Circle associe l’individualisation des objets, les spectroscopies NIR et MIR, l’analyse d’image, la couleur et les traceurs fluorescents, avec la possibilité d’ajouter des filigranes numériques ou la spectroscopie LIBS. Sur le pilote consacré aux emballages légers, le taux moyen d’individualisation est de 81 ± 9 %, avec un débit de 2,4 ± 0,3 objets par seconde. Le scénario d’analyse de cycle de vie calcule 367 kg de recyclat par tonne d’entrée, contre 276 kg dans le scénario de référence, et un écart de 245 kg CO₂-éq. par tonne ; l’étude ne fournit pas de coût complet pour une installation industrielle.
